This week I have two stories I had a lot of fun spending time on. One is three new chapters in the Patreon-commissioned pizza-boys-getting-grown-with-special-cannabis story, “One Hot Summer”. The other is two chapters of a new story called “The CVN Link”. I had the basic idea a while ago, but this week I finally had an angle on how to make it a story. I hope you like them both.
Some of you might have noticed some glitches with the most-read lists on the home page last week. It turns out that a setting on the SQL database was flipped to a stricter option sometime on May 30 without my knowledge, the main effect of which was that, thanks to a bit of sloppy coding on my part that had slid by under the old regime but was now no longer executing successfully, new rows weren’t being inserted into the page views table whenever someone landed on a story page. I fixed that and a few related laxities to prevent similar issues going forward, and fortunately all that resulted was that I lost a week of site view statistics, which only means anything to the one person on earth who cares about them (that would be me).
