Biweekly Update: 25 May 2016

Hit counts and star ratings: Regular visitors may have noticed several big follow-ups to the migration over the last couple of weeks: I was able to re-introduce live story-by-story hot counts as well as live star rating votes on all the stories.

In celebration, the Top stories page now has four listings: Top 50 Mist Viewed Stories, Top 50 Most Viewed Stories (Last 7 Days), Top 50 Highest Rated Stories, and Top 50 Longest Stories. (Those of you who saw these lists in their earliest versions might have seen some hiccups in the countings, but those were fixed and the lists are working now as expected.) I'll be adding more lists based on hit counts and star ratings both to this page and to individual author and tag pages.

In light of the star ratings now being available again, I should reiterate the terms of use regarding voting on stories: Please do not downrate a story solely because you're not a fan of the category. A story that fans of a particular category might like shouldn't get a misleadingly low rating because that category isn't what you're into. Comments and votes are about most of all about feedback and interaction between authors and their audiences. With that in mind, go out and find your favorite stories and vote for them!

Other changes: I've added links that allow you to share individual stories on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media. There is now also an Update History page, where you can see when individual chapters were added to the archive and the descriptions that went with them. This is in contrast with the Date Added page, which records when new stories were first introduced to the site.
