Weekly Update: 19 February 2022

Lots of different kinds of stories this week, both new and continuing. My contribution, called “Lust & Consequences,” is another example of a story that sort of galloped madly down the track with the bit in its teeth and I just struggled to hang on. The ending was a surprise to me, and the middle, too, frankly. I hope you like it, though, if it’s up your alley. Anyway, make sure to try out the tales you think you might enjoy, and remember it’s a boon to authors and visitors whenever you comment and upvote the ones you think are worth checking out.

Many thanks to my true and trusty Patreonites, without whom I would not be able to do all of this. If you want to join the party, check out the options here. The Friday Flashback this week was part two of my pairing of similarly-named stories, so check that out of you missed it. The next update is a week hence, on 26 February. In the meantime, thanks for visiting, and enjoy the site!

This week’s new stuff:

Friday Flashback: Similarly-Named Stories, Part 2

For this week’s retrogression into the past, I’m continuing with the exploration of story pairs with similar or identical names, and finding further proof that two stories with the same title are the ones least likely to be anything like each other. See what I mean in the partnerings below.

The next update is tomorrow, 19 February. In the meantime, have fun exploring the archives, and thanks for visiting the site.

Weekly Update: 12 February 2022

This week there’s great new stuff and some great continuations, so hopefully there’s something for everyone to enjoy. From me you get a double helping of the Patreon-commissioned story “Resolutions,” which has a few plot turns I hadn’t consciously anticipated, for all I’d managed to lay the groundwork for them in previous chapters anyway without knowing. Writing is weird like that, sometimes. It’s not exactly Tolkien flummoxed at unexpectedly meeting Faramir in Ithilien or anything, but it was fun to experience, anyway.

The Friday Flashback this week was the first of three collections of stories with similar names, so check that out if you missed it. The next update is a week hence, on 19 February. In the meantime, thanks for visiting, and enjoy the site.

This week’s new stuff:

Friday Flashback: Similarly-Named Stories, Part 1

For this week’s trip to the archives, I decided to see what would happen if I started pairing together all the stories with similar or identical names on the site. There’s quite a few sets of exact or near-exact matches, so I’m going to split up the results across three consecutive Friday Flashback posts. As expected, it’s kind of awesome how stories with the same title can be completely different from each other. Just look at the two “Birthright” stories: one’s about a dying superhero told via Biblical allegory, the other’s about a floofy-tailed anthro raccoon with a unique heritage. Most of these pairings show a similar mutually alien dichotomy, and I kind of love it. Metabods is a strange and diverse place.

The next update is tomorrow, 12 February. In the meantime, have fun exploring the archives, and thanks for visiting the site.

This week’s flashback:

Weekly Update: 5 February 2022

Really big update this week. Not only do we have a big pile of contributions from old and new writers alike—including three 25-themed Metabods anniversary stories from AKA, Proteus, and Ziel—but this update also includes the lucky thirteenth installment of my bimonthly Vignette Party event where I write one-scene stories based on prompts from my excellent and esteemed suggestion-level Patreonites. This time there are four stories from me, all evocations of things patrons wanted to see.

Surely with all of that, there must be something for you to enjoy! Check it all out, and make sure to star-upvote and comment on the stories you like.

The Friday Flashback this week timeslipped all the way back to February 2014, so take a look at that if you missed it. The next update is a week hence, 12 February. In the meantime, thanks for visiting, and enjoy the site!

For this week’s flashback, we’re collecting stories from on or about February 2014, a whole eight years ago. Hope you find something interesting!

The next update is the Vignette Party scheduled for tomorrow, 5 February. In the meantime, have fun exploring the archives, and thanks for visiting the site.

Weekly Update: 29 January 2022

Lots of interesting stuff this week, and from me we get the latest continuation of the Patreon-commissioned epic “One Hot Summer”. Explore the week’s offerings at your leisure, and think about commenting and star-upvoting the stories you like.

Next week is the lucky thirteenth bimonthly Vignette Party where my trusty and well-favored suggestion-level Patreonites suggest one-scene stories for me to write. If you want to get in on the action, check out the possibilities—and if you are (or become) a suggestioner on Patreon make sure to DM me with your prompt so I can write your personal sexy!

This week’s Friday Flashback was another turn of The Unsurfaced, in which I troll the archives for well-regarded stories I haven’t flashed back to before, so check that out if you missed it. The next update is a week hence, 5 February, and it’s the aforementioned Vignette Party. In the meantime, thanks for visiting and enjoy the site.

This week’s new stuff:

Friday Flashback: The Unsurfac3d

We’re back with my third periodic roundup of stories with good views and votes that haven’t previously been featured in a flashback post; the previous installments are here and here. The rules are as before: the story has to be at least six years old; it has to come from the middle tier of the archive in terms of story views; and it has to have a ranking of four or more stars from five or more votes. It’s an interesting mix, including the very first muscle growth story I every read (“Frank”), so hope you find something you enjoy.

The next update is tomorrow, 29 January. In the meantime, have fun exploring the archives, and thank you for visiting the site.

This week’s flashback:

Weekly Update: 22 January 2022

Big update this week, including a couple more responses to my call for “Metabods 25” stories. For my own contribution this week I ended up taking a different slant on the 25th anniversary theme with a story based around a lump of silver, and its unexpected role in facilitating transformation for two young pseudo-Victorian alchemists. There’s not a lot of radical change in this story; the place I was in when I was writing it just liked the premise and the story these two men were building for themselves. I may continue it later, but for now I just had fun just poking around, as it were. Either way, check that out, and all the other good stuff down there, too.

In two weeks, on 5 February, I’ll be having another Vignette Party where I write one-scene stories from suggestions by my lovely suggestion-level Patreonites. If that’s you, make sure to DM me with what you’d like to see—and if it’s not, take a look and see if you want to be part of the gang.

The Friday Flashback this week collected a few dancing fools, so take a gander if you missed it. The next update is a week hence, on 29 January. In the meantime, thanks for visiting, and enjoy the site.

This week’s new stuff:

Friday Flashback: Dance Floor Heat

For this week’s trip to the back room, we’re collecting stories about nights out dancing, shaking your ass and having asses shaken at you. No place better to feel the collective energy of a whole group of guys and get that sense of fates branching like crackling lightning. Anything can happen. Maybe even sex!

The next update is tomorrow, 22 January. In the meantime, have fun exploring the archives, and thanks for visiting the site.
