Weekly Update: 21 August 2021

For this update, I continue the Patreon-commissioned story “The Expedition”, with Jude, Martin, and Gary falling deeper into their encounter with ancient, animated forces on a forgotten Aegean Island. I’d also like to take this opportunity to call for stories from all my readers and visitors. If you’ve got a tale of hot guys getting hotter, or who start out sexier in all the ways that make men sexy, I’d love for you to generously share it with me and your fellow fans of fabulously fuckable fellows.

As previously tweeted, my big project last weekend was to rewrite the code and interface for the search page essentially from scratch. The old search page had been bogging down in recent weeks, and the best approach seemed to be to write cleaner, less-complicated code. There’s more work to be done, but performance is definitely several notches better, and new sorting and filtering options have been added that you may find useful.—That very necessary work on the search page did mean that I fell behind on tag suggestions despite promising not to, but I did create a new page showing the tag suggestion queue so suggesters can see that their contribution is pending and has not been summarily ignored.

The Friday Flashback this week was a tribute to bulging biceps, so that (and the Friday Flashboy who inspired it) are worth checking out if you haven’t already. The next update is a week hence, 28 August. In the meantime, thanks for visiting, and enjoy the site.

This week’s new stuff:

Saturday Flashback: Holly Jolly Christmas

Christmas is next week, so in advance of that I’m surfacing some of the best-liked Christmas/Solstice-themed stories from past years. Next week there will be a few new ones to add to the holiday roll.

It’s an interesting holiday—seems to draw a good deal of giving but also a fair amount of taking, if you know what I mean. 😉 Seriously, though, we do also need more non-Christmas end-of-year-holiday stories.

Aaanyway. The next update is 26 December, at which time there will be some interesting news for the site in the coming year. The week after that I will post my annual round-up of the top stories on the site in 2020. In the meantime, thanks for visiting and enjoy the site.

This week’s flashback:

Saturday Flashback: December 2013

For this week’s magical mystery tour we visit Metabods as it was seven years ago, in another age and another era. And yet, back then we were still interested in smut, just as the folks of today. The resulting haul contains lots of interesting stuff you might remember fondly or have never stumbled across before—give ’em a go! Next update is 12 December, and until then, thanks for visiting and enjoy the site.

This week’s flashback:

Saturday Flashback: Arms Over Arms

Usually when I write about guys with four arms I picture them one set behind the other, mostly because imagining the shoulders doubling is pretty hot all by itself. Sometimes, though, the four-armed guy of my dreams has them one set above the other, and that’s also the way tetrabracchial guys tend to show up in other places (Khoros, Barsoom). So for this Saturday retrospective I thought I’d surface some stories involving handsy guys who have arms on top of arms, and see what cropped up in the mix.

Next update is 28 November. In the meantime, thanks for visiting and enjoy the site.

This week’s flashback:

Saturday Flashback: Phat Lats

This week’s trip through the muscle archives celebrates the latissimi dorsi, those beautiful wings that some guys grow as wide as anything, especially around here. They make a good bodybuilder into an amazing bodybuilder, but my favorite is seeing lats on a defined, moderately built guy just peeking out at you between his arms and his sides as he’s just standing there in front of you. Peek-a-boo lats like that, clothed or not, are a special gift to the aficionado of raw, masculine beauty.

Next update is 14 November, and it’s a Vignette Party. Patreoneer suggestion posse, give me your one-scene suggestions! In the meantime, thanks for visiting and—whoa, suggestion posse, there’s a story idea I need to jot down for future use…

This week’s flashback:

Saturday Flashback: Ghosts of Halloweens Past

Next week we’ll be celebrating Halloween on the day with a bunch of new stuff, so I thought for this week’s flashback we’d surface some highlights from previous Halloweens. Sexy-spooky, nice.

I’m going live with a new format for the site this week, so if things look messed up try force-refreshing the page to make sure you’ve loaded the new stylesheets. It’s not exactly Museum of Great Design material, I get that. My main goal was to clean out the code, which was starting to slow down load times dramatically, and start fresh with a low-burden site across the board that collected the necessary server and database info in a clean, straightforward, and efficient way and was free of ten-year-old junk code and outmoded elements. I’ll be refining things over the next few weeks, and features you notice as missing may filter back during that time. If you see anything that’s just plumb not working, I’d be grateful for a heads up.

Next update is 31 October. In the meantime, thanks for visiting and enjoy the site.

This week’s flashback:

Saturday Flashback: Supertrawl

This week’s flashback involves guys who end up with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. There’s Marvel, there’s DC, and then there’s these guys. Capes and tights are optional, but sex appeal definitely comes with the job.

Next update is 17 October. In the meantime, thanks for visiting and enjoy the site.

Saturday Flashback: Caribbean Princes

Hi folks! This week’s roundup surfaces a few stories that visit the sunny Caribbean or feature guys that come from there. There are a lot of island escapes in our stories, mostly in warm places like the Caribbean, the south Pacific, Indonesia, and so on, though there are a few tucked away in cooler spots like Puget Sound or the craggy coast of Maine. This time, though, our cruise is headed for azure waters and white beaches. Pack your Bermuda shorts, some sunscreen, and a smile.

The next update is 3 October. In the meantime, thanks for visiting and enjoy the site!

Saturday Flashback: September/October 2010

Hey folks! For this retrogression I decided to go a little further back, to September and October of 2010, a whole decade ago. The site was smaller then, and the contributions fewer, but it was still a long way from its humble origins even further back in time. Here’s what the site looked like ten years back. The next update is 19 September; and in the meantime, thanks for visiting and enjoy the site.

Saturday Flashback: Romanclature

It being August, named for the genuinely august emperor Augustus, I decided to use this flashback to surface a few stories that bring up those toga-wearing noble bastards of the Eternal City. I’m including the ancient Greeks as well, partly because it was the merger of the Greek and Roman ethos that brought forth what later came to be called Western Civilization but mostly owing to the rather tangential connection to Rome that some of these stories have. (In “Second Puberty,” for example, the protagonist’s brother is watching a documentary on the fall of Rome but abandons it to go ogle his brother. “I know how it ends,” he explains.)

It’s still appropriate, expanding the field that way. After all, a radish may know no Greek, but Augustus did.

Next update is 5 September. In the meantime, thanks for visiting and enjoy the site.
